I've had three of them. Fun cars. Ugly brown and black velour interiors disintegrate rapidly. Suspension had self leveling rear Bilstein shocks. Makes a great long distance cruiser. Add a cam and four barrel and they are pretty quick. Back in 1980 they had a stellar record racing against other big Euro cars. All that being said, I wouldn't buy another one unless it was a 5 speed and it was almost free.

Anything south of the pike is probibly overlapig territory for us. Ad to this that there are a bunch of GRM people in south eastern mass. If we all ever got together it could be interesting.
Would your basic 5.3 and a five speed be a difficult bolt in.
Make sure it was a lm4 to keep it all aluminum.

Actually parts aren't that hard to get if you don't mind international shipping. Rimmer Brothers in the UK has a ton of parts for them.
I've owned a 2600 a looooong time ago (with a bored out Triumph 6 instead of the V8), but remembering the size of the engine bay I don't think you can squeeze a much bigger motor in there without some surgery. It's got the length to take a straight six, but I think the width of the bay is pretty much designed to hold the Rover V8.
