So we are in love with our 86 F250. Regular cab, XL, 300 six, manual trans. But it would be a lot more capable with 4wd. In 86 the F250 2wd truck had coils in front like the 150. The F250 4wd had leafs. Soooooo which parts truck should I buy to convert mine over? A 150 4wd, 250 4wd or for fun the 350 4wd? I am thinking that any of the above from 80 through 96 would work?

250 or 350 4wd bits are more likely to swap onto your existing frame, and they'll be much stronger than the 150 bits.

Trade it for one with 4wd. Probably cheaper in the long run. Less problems too.
