So I have a 1998 Z28 and the engine on start drops RPM and then comes up to idle around 800 to 1000. When you press the gas the RPM drops and then climbs. if the engine is under load the car will start jerking? . . . . . any ideas what may be going on?
IAC motor possibly going bad or at least needing cleaning would be the first thing I would check.
bad maf. every time. take it to AZ for scan or local shop that will scan it free.

Check the air intake ducting for any leaks - splits, loose clamps, etc. especially between the MAF and the throttle body.
