So I can't get my 2001 B5 1.8T AWM to start. codes said P0322 (G28 Engine Speed Sensor - no signal), removed, tested bad, replaced with new part (tested good @ 850ohms). Still no start. It tries to fire right off the go, then nothing. Fuel pressure/pump is good. Spark is present initially, then gone? Now I'm getting a P0321 (G28 signal implausible). After many more attempts and hooking up VAG-COM, I am now getting P0321 AND P0322, this with new crank sensor(G28) installed.

Secondary ECU used and same codes occured. Cam position sensor (used) swapped to no avail.

Also, in reading through the Bentley Manual it calls for the Engine Speed Sensor to be tested between pins 1 and 2 for resistence but shows old square connector. The only resistive reading aquirible on the oval connector is between pin 2 and 3?
