How would I bypass a transponder key? a key priced at $80.88 plus programming is ridiculous... There has to be a way around this... This is a car I am considering buying for my Wife and I know I will need extra keys... Nuff' said.

I rented a Jetta last week. On the key chain was a warning that a replacement key was 200.00. I was careful.

Trying to replace the Wife's appliance. And this Max looks like a good deal. However, the key issue bugs me... And I would like a way around it, if possible.
You could see if you could get some regular key blanks without the transponder cut. Then tape the original key inside the steering column cover.

no really. if you find a way to circumvent the engine immobilizer on a late model nissan, you'll have really done something.
You have one transponder key that works? Tape it near the antenna ring and use standard keys instead.
I lost both the immobilizer key and the RKE fob on my 02 Galant that little promenade cost me 400 bucks I should know better
