Hey guys and gals,
I figured I would start here first before I go slumming to the fan boi sights.
My nephew just got a 2001 Maxima for free... but the tranny is suspect.
It is the auto version with the 3.0 liter motor.
It seems that the tranny shifts and works fine for 1st and 2nd but will not go into any of the other higher gears... This really sounds like a sensor (overdrive?) to me.
So before I break down and check for codes, (like I said we just got the car today) are there any areas I can trouble shoot?
And when I do check for codes could it tell me the culprit?
I really dont want to put a transmission in that rats nest that is that engine bay so if you guys and gals could throw me a tranny bone that would be great!
