I have a 2007 Honda Fit and have read conflicting reports that the front passenger seat folds flat like in the HHR and Pontiac Vibe/Matrix twins. Anybody in here have some insight?

Like, can be leaned all the way back so it's flat like a bed?

Wait, if you have one why not just try it?

I don't know about the first gen, but my 2012, what you do is slide the seat up as far as possible, then fold the seatback back. Its not perfectly flat, but it does allow you to put 8' lumber in the car diagonally.

I think that was a JDM only thing. They called it "refresh mode" or something. A google search for that should come up with something. It is pretty badass; the idea being that you leave the back seat up, and the front seat acts as a lounge chair type thing.

Like so. Perhaps not available in the US because of the active head restraints?

They do have "Long mode" on the second gens. Fold pass rear down. Slide pass front all the way forward, then lay all the way back.

The 07 definitely has the refresh mode where you can take the front seat (minus the head rest) and line it up with the back seat to make the long lounge chair type arrangement. I don't think it has the forward fold flat option. A roof rack is looking very appealing all of a sudden for hauling situations.

I had an 07 fit for a short period of time. That little thing was quite roomy! If I remember correctly, the front seat did fold flat like your talking about. In fact, all of the seats folded in some way. I used to fold the bottoms of the rear seats up and throw my bike in through the drivers rear door. It fit perfect there. Then the trunk was left free for other stuff.

Yeah. I think ours was a virgin for almost a week. Something about a guy driving a Honda Fit just makes those panties melt right off.

I really wanted a fit just bc I read you can haul 2x4x8s with the hatch closed that is impressive for a car that size where as my focus is bigger and longer but has to have the hatch open bc it is not in fact a Honda fit lol

Yeah that car made me overconfident about it's hauling capacity. One time I showed up with it to bring home a dresser and dining table (new in box) woops.

I've done 10 footers with the hatch closed in the Integra.

I used to haul two mountain bikes inside of an '09, standing up with the front wheels removed and the forks clamped to a 2x4.

By the way, does anybody need a tow bar for flat towing a Fit? I have a Blue Ox bar that I no longer need.
