There's one coming in soon at work and I like the look of it plus 5 cylinder turbo goodness. Unbelievably it's a stick (6 speed) with about 140Km's. What should I look for? Is the hardtop mechanism known for problems? Any other issues? Thanks in advance.

That sounds pretty cool. I've always liked the look of those (the rear in particular) and the 5cyl turbo is a known entity that can make good power. I like 2000's volvo interiors as well.

I actually test drove a v50 with the six speed and a t5 the other day. I will say it rode very nice, had good power, and the shifter felt good.

Shame a hack mechanic had owned it at some point during its lifespan.

Always loved these. Unsure of how stiff the chassis is on these though. Val Kilmer approved which is good enough for me.

Drive it and see what you think. I've not driven a model that new. I can say the earlier ones were remarkably flexible and I found the performance to be totally underwhelming.

I drove, I liked it and watched it being sold while I took pics of it. Oh well, thanks for the input as always.

Sounds like you need to get your money on standby. Are we talking about financing this next car you've been asking about?

It's very pretty. That's got to be a "chick" car.

Tops are complex, but surprisingly reliable, especially when compared to the previous model.
