I'm looking at a 2008 Boxter - not an S - with 17000 miles on it as a step up from my beloved 1996 Miata. Is there anything special I should be aware of in the 2008 model year?

In reply to Roundy47: The 2008 Boxsters are wonderful cars. I had one for a while and I loved it. They do have that IMS bearing failure issue that will affect a small percentage of cars but can cause complete engine failure. (The 2009s went to a new design.) An extended warranty or CPO extended coverage would be attractive if you can get them. You can find lots of info on the PCA's Boxster Register board and other on-line forums. And join PCA, you will be glad you did! Dan
