Not that I have any real interest in buying one, but curiosity drove me to look at the new redesign when I saw something about it.

Looking at it, it looks damn close to the Kia Forte (but actually, not as good). Is it getting to the time that the "copy-cat" Korean companies like Kia and Hyundai are now being copied by the "OG" companies like Toyota and Honda (with the very nice new Accord looking suspiciously like a Hyundai Genesis).

IDK, late night thoughts as I try to bore myself to sleep since I have to get up in 5 hours to drive to LeMons :)

Looks a lot like the Kia Koup, but this is the second model that's been imitating it. They shamelessly ripped off the headlights and had a similar grille before this.

They needed to start copying somebody. Their ability to design cars internally had pretty much failed.

you know, i agree and all, they all do look the same, but really, how many shapes of headlights and opening are there? Go too far, and no one buys it cause its awful, don't go far enough, and it looks like 6 other cars in the same class. The sweet spot in the middle is getting really hard to nail after close to 120 years of auto manufacturing.

Add to that the fact that cookie cutter cars sell like crazy. why design it when you can copy it and rake in the bucks either way?

still, when i look, i look for different. this obviously isn't different...

I don't think so, since the 2008 Forte was primarily copied from the 2005 Civic.

Corollas, at least for the last 20 years, have always had giant wheelgaps. That's what made the previous Corolla S look like it was wearing flood pants:
