It's 4:05 am and we're headed to the Harrisburg Farm Show complex for the Racers Flea Market. We source a ton of stuff from this event and the next two flea markets. We'll be wrenching this afternoon.
Anyone else already working on the $2015 junk?

I was planning to but, just fixing it puts it over the budget. As in no performance improvement whatsoever. So I'll just enjoy the car.
I have no idea how anyone builds a challenge car on a challenge budget.
After talking to swank and mndsm last night sounds like the 400 dollar Daytona is $2015 bound. Let the shenanigans begin.
I'm rallycrossing a 1999 Prizm this year. If my car holds up, I might throw some A6s on it and see what she can do.

Do you know how to work hard? And many long hours? For months? If the answer is "Yes" to all three, you know how. If any answers were "No", you can't.

Nov 15 at Lincoln, and Saturday after Thanksgiving at Krietz. You're welcome to ride along.

Yes, yes, and years.
Not working on a car at all, but working pretty steadily on Challenge related stuff. To date I have sent out approximately two dozen contact messages to spread the word and plant ideas in an attempt to increase numbers for next year.
Also, I have sorta been adopted into a team (I enjoy being a floating orphan, the role suits me) to work on their Parc Expose presentation. I foresee a major goal and point of pride in the future as being the team that manages to, as team infiniti coined the phrase, "win the party".
I am stuck with nothing until 2015 starts.... I have a multitude of ideas, just either lack of available shells or initial $.
If I have to pull a drive-in and buy, I will.

Ok, sounds good. I might also need some help with direction with my projects. I just picked up a 99 miata that I could easily recoup the purchase price and I'm picking this up on Wednesday.
Man, I wish we had the types of flea markets around here that you guys have! The only automotive related items at our flea markets are fake Chinese "Little Tree" air fresheners, counterfeit JDM wheels that are overpriced, and awful car audio stuff that is also overpriced.
In other news, I plugged in the sending unit and fuel pump on my CSX today. That in itself is a win. I have to flare and bend up some new fuel lines tomorrow and then I can attempt to fire it up.
Already working on a theme to unseat johnrw
Making room in the garage to fix the fiero's blown head gasket.

I am honored by both your comments. Game on gentlemen!
TB, I am glad to see you have clung to your Infiniti team name of Q-Baller. It was fantastic to have you join up with our team and you were very much a life saver on a very tiring first day.

Thompson flea is this weekend.
Not yet, but hopefully my car hunt will begin after the new year. I will be making mine into a reliable DD too, so nothing crazy, but it should be fun and hopefully semi-competitive (mid pack anyway).

This looks suspiciously like the Wartburg....

I look forward to checking it out
The flea market was a success. The boys came home from college for the weekend. Fuzzy and I spent time together at the flea market and working on an intake. $2015 is going to be good. :)
In reply to JohnRW1621:
Game on, indeed! You, my friend, are now behind the proverbial 8-ball.
I will always be proud to have been bestowed the moniker of "Q-baller"; it was my honor to play a small part in what I know will be remembered for a long time in challenge lore.
I knew you guys needed transportation, but that was really almost ancillary to what I could do for you. I quickly assessed the situation and decided that two things were necessary:
You were catastrophizing a little and needed someone to back you off of the ledge. In the heat of the moment very few people make the best decisions possible, most of us need to back away and "sleep on it" for a while.
You needed beer! Cold beer! Quickly! Any true friend could see that and would work quickly to make it happen.
I hope to see you again there soon. Currently, I seem to be signed on to 3 teams already... I hope I am not in over my head, but I tend to work best that way.
You'll need to log in to post.
