Just finished registering for the $2016 Challenge. Registration opened this morning. Don't forget, those that get in early can take a shot at the General Tire Challenge! Very excited to see the cars that teams are working on and having a fantastic time. Good luck everyone with your builds. Team T-Bone
Looking at a minivan late today. We'll see how that goes.
I 'might' have a very low finishing car to bring for fun depending on my schedule. Turn out it's not THAT far from Texas to Florida.

I am working hard to make this happen, but I am just not sure enough of myself to commit at this point.
Plenty of time to get the car ready; ultimately it is all just nuts and bolts (a good bit of paint, too). I am really uncertain about getting myself ready; I am quickly figuring out how to move again after another recent spinal surgery but the length of the trip is daunting and my stamina is pathetic.
I wish I could sign up now but, realistically, I predict a last minute decision...
Shawnee Creek Racing is now registered. Now I've got to get back to building the APV GTP minivan...
Good luck everyone.

I found the haynes dustbuster manual the other day if its of any help
Team "Wag on a Whim" is registered! I couldn't decide between that or "Land Barge-oisie".
Hopefully that LT1 puts itself back together one of these days.

Good luck and press on but if you do not get completed you are welcome to a piece of whatever I have going on.
See you there!

Is there a reason I am not seeing it on the GRM Challenge page?
https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/events/2429/
Guys, the reason we hadn't broadcasted that registration is open, is because the entry fee hasn't been set in stone yet. Frankly I don't know how you all found it, since registration is marked as private and we haven't shared the link. I just closed registration until we are completely ready. Those of you who did already register may have to get refunded and register again if there is change in the registration fee.

Thanks, John, I appreciate it. I have an incredibly strong desire to finish my own build and get it there somehow but right now I am a physical mess just trying to keep my head above water.
Also, I estimate this one should easily be a top 10 build and killer street car if I can get it there.. stings a bit to plan it and wrench on it when I know I can barely drive it...
I will definitely show up and have some fun even if I cannot enter a car. I am actually thinking about having it delivered and meet it at the hotel while I fly in... Either way you know I am always down for whatever.

A flaw in the matrix!!
Maybe it's because the forum auto-generates a thread whenever you guys (staff) create an event/article/whatever elsewhere on the site?

For 12 years they yell at me for procrastinating and registering late.
I register early, and they yell at me.
Sigh...
Lol, no problem. We'll figure it out and let you guys know if/what you need to change.

Seriously?? Yes, it's a bit insane to think someone might check the motorsport.reg page every day to see when challenge registration might open, then set an alarm for 12:01AM on the day it's supposed to open just to make sure they are the first to register .... yeah that guy would be freaking nuts.

So, maybe now you have laid down a challenge about registering for The Challenge?

if it gets wiped out and i have to redo, that'll make begging you to change my wife's dinner for the banquet easier. i forget that while i don't eat beef, most of the rest of the world's stomachs are able to.
In reply to Ed Higginbotham:
Are you really surprised that this group figured out how?

I would be happy to help in this process, if you decide to go this route, as I live in Gainesville. A few years back, a Challenge participant had his car delivered to my house, as well as picked up from my house post-Challenge. If you (or anyone else) ends up shipping a car here, let me know and I can help facilitate!
Alright. I'm sending an email this morning to everyone who registered yesterday. Don't worry, we'll still be able to keep you in the General Tire Challenge. Just keep an eye on your emails.
And patgizz, I can change your wife's banquet order, no problem. Just let me know what she wants. (Sounds like beef)

Thanks, I appreciate it. I know that you and the other locals are always ready to help anyone out and I will not forget about it.
It is just an option to keep open right now, there is still plenty of time left to sort things out. I used to be able to drive from Jersey to FL in a straight shot with enough coffee; recently I drove a much more comfy car to DC and needed a nap upon arrival...

How many spots are left in the General Tire Challenge? I really want to make it in this year.
