Then where is my deep fryer/center console?

You know, I think the problem isn't that people are too wimpy to climb up into the bed of a truck that is chest high for a 6'3 person. I think the problem is, why the hell is the bed that high in the first place? Look at all of the air space under a truck. You could make a new F-150 two feet lower without hurting suspension travel or ground clearance.
This of course is only of benefit to people who want to be able to load and unload things into the bed. Why would anyone buy a truck for that?

No argument here. As much as I love my F-150, it is too tall, and it's only for styling reasons. If it was lower, not only would it be easier to load, it'd handle better and get better mileage, too. Which doesn't stop people from jacking them up, though....

Next year. It'll be right next to the slurpee dispenser arm rest and hotdog roller dash.
Hot dogs are never lost in the defroster ducts. They're just stored for aging. Then when the blend door jams and you have to replace the entire evaporator case, mmmmm 12 year aged hot dog, and you don't need to spend all sorts of money for it.
Wait, is it hot dogs or bourbon that are best when aged twelve years?
I've never backed up a trailer
I've also never owned a trailer or had to use one.
I do however, own a few sigs, have a few black belts, combat boots, and have used knives instead of forks.
But, I can't grow a beard, I do fancy art and fashion, and cried watching John Q.
Then again, I refer to my wife as 'woman', I'll wear the same t-shirt all weekend, and my nails are always dirty.
But E36 M3, Discord is my favorite My Little Pony character, I have no daughter so I watch that show with my son, and I've never had a beer.
I'm not sure if I'm a manly man or not lol but all above is 100% factual.
I dont think much of my self-esteem comes from the things that happen to be stereotypically 'man-like' about me. I would rather live in a world without oppressive gender roles then a world where exactly one half of the population knew how to back up a trailer because they felt it was somehow expected of them regardless of how not useful it is for the majority of men.
I think it's a neat feature. I do wish people would bother to learn how to drive better, but not because of gender roles. I wish people would care whether they were good at it or not because every time we get in a car we become extremely dangerous to each other and can ruin lives at a moment's notice. I think one of the main reasons i don't care about gun control is because everyone has cars anyway, and yet you don't hear people getting on the news all the time saying 'if only there had been more actually-trained drivers on the road this tragedy could have been avoided' like you always hear when people shoot each other.
The "man card" comes out on this one because a LARGE percentage of the guys buying the F150 need a car, not a truck. They buy the truck because it is "manly". It is all for show with the lift kits and stupid wheels..
Then they need electronic nannies to not look like the buffoons they are..
This is the problem.
You know, I'm almost honored that my opinion is that important to the people buy buy trucks for that reason.
I mean, let's think about it. A new truck is, what, $40-70k? Then they lift it, and spend $3k on mudder tires, and $10k on EPA violations, and expensive fuel that they only get 10mpg on... so basically they spend the equivalent of a small 2 bedroom house just because they believe it will get a rise out of me as I drive my small fuel-efficient import.

Ding ding ding ding, come on down and accept your prize, a 12 year aged frank!
Edit to knurled. What upsets me is back in the good old days everyone had a "muscle car" cause it was cool. Now daddys are spending like you said 20-60k or more on their sons trucks. But how many people you see riding around in a comprable priced car like cayman r or bmw m3? None.. i along with ever breathing member here would rather have a m3 over a 10mpg truck that you can neither take off road or load anything in the bed cause you wont be able to get it back out without a crane
These are fun to back up:
LMTV (M1078) and Water Buffalo (M149)
Bonus points if your derpy spotter keeps getting Left and Right mixed up
I would of loved a backup camera...

You've missed the point roughly 100%. If not... Sorry. I use technology plenty but it's not because I need it. I might even use that technology someday for some reason but not because I never learned it manually. But as I wrote earlier, I never said technology was a bad thing and should be avoided. I just see too many examples of what I mentioned ie: pumping gas and changing a tire. If someone decides to take that statement and twist it to make it seem like I abhor technology, that's fine but it's also disingenuous.
I don't think it was specifically geared towards you. My opinion is technology is good, Ford is smart, people who wouldn't normally buy this product because they are intimidated, will now buy it. If this increases the sales for Ford, which I think it will, good on them.
In reply to stanger_missle: The large vehicle/small trailer is always a tricky one and I can't imagine those trucks move easily. Still I would like one for camping trips to the beach.
Yeah it makes me sad having an armory close by seeing big trucks like that never getting any use. Uncle sam please let me borrow one of those humvees or other big contraption to take romping through the woods i promise I wont lose it. Still holding out for at a least a deuce and a half though

As I see it, there are a lot more men interested in stick and ball sports than there are interested in cars. Especially where I work.
Yes I can. Maybe I'm a renaissance man, but I have a wide range of interests from cars to sports to classic literature to art to science. Knowledge is the only thing that no one can take from me. P.S. I will always back up my own trailer because I can.
Can't believe I'm still seeing what I thought was an innocuous statement in this thread!
