Looks like it was an acceleration course this afternoon. The MA cars pulled away from the MR cars and Dustin, who I know is down 100hp to Evan and Bee at least has lost his lead. It's going to be a race tomorrow.

Course for 3rd heat in afternoon was glorious. Very grippy and while not very fast (lots of 1-2) the frontrunners were very smooth. The 911 sound absolutely epic. Its revlimiter sounds like backmasked words, very spooky yet awesome.
mazdeuce, bear in mind that all - ALL - Miata in MR are forced induction. The Englands got a blower on dere BP now. Smooth + exploitable power = John W is in the lead right now.
I am not counting Orion whose 2.5RS broke something in the drivetrain and is now driving an SR spec Miata to complete his runs. To be honest I don't think he's ever completed a Championship event in his own car, the level of breakage is impressive. (This is why he declined letting me co-drive his car - if it broke, he wanted to know that it was all on him. And I totally respect that...)
Course for 1st heat in afternoon was painfully sucky. Oh well, the Mod guys deserved a break given how they had to run first last year.
Personal debead video (no longer a rally tire debead virgin!) in editing progress now. AFAIK I am debead number three for the whole weekend. I want to do the video Right and add subtitles but this computer doesn't have enough power to do that very well. Plus I bought an HDMI cable from the Wal-Mart across the street so we could watch Initial D on the bigscreen. I can't edit video here when we have bourbon and anime.
That's what I thought about the MR Miatas. Dustin has maybe 140hp.
Go drink bourbon and watch InitialD and have some fun.
Dustin is also crazy smooth too. And the low power was a benefit in the AM when it was raining slightly.
I was 3rd in PF in the AM because I turned my boost down. I turned it back up and didn't turn it back down in the PM because ohio rally idiot.
But....more power......Evan showed us that cars tuned right to the edge of explosion is the way to go.
Good luck tomorrow. Go make fun of Bob for me.
Evan has three things I do not.
There's a Subaru here with some severely righteous compressor surge. It. Sounds. Awesome. And then sometime through the third heat someone came up to spectate with a GT-R. That is, R32 GTR. Had to take a look because OMG GTR.
Anyway it is shower time because reekage, and cleanliness is a hallmark of civilization.
Pfffft....excuses excuses. Just go drive faster tomorrow. And really, make fun of Bob, it's the best part of having him around.
Someone posted SF results from Saturday on Facebook last night, I saw the Abarth was in 4th and it looked like a closely packed group. How's it running out there?
The last run group has started! MA cars appear to be first. I'm glued to live timing until it's over.
Edit: Got ahead of myself, they're finishing up SA.
And this is why I couldn't go. There was no room in my personal schedule for delays, and, well, rallycross, things are going to run late.
The course must be changing like crazy. The time difference between #9 and #10 is 4 seconds. Goooooooooo!
Just got home, something like 14 hour drive and I've been up for something like 27 hours. (Math is hard. Let's go shopping!) First time I ever drove daylight to daylight instead of dark to dark. Thought I felt a tickle in my throat yesterday, figured I must have been snoring last night. The last four or five hours, no it's not from snoring. Ugh.
Hope it's just a fluke and not like the weird flu everyone got in 2011.
Nice work out there everyone. Got me shopping CL last night for __-_s.
Out of curiousity, does Bee's miata have the 5spd or 6?
You'll need to log in to post.
