someone in the classifieds has a 1991 mustang lx 4cyl for sale, i have a 5.0 motor in the shop how easy would the swap be.

Pretty easy, factory mounts, needs a mustang specific (TB, LSC as well) pan and accessory drive all easily available. You will need a V8 transmission.

There's more to the swap than people will tell you.

As was said above, the k-members are the same, however the tranny crossmembers are different (single-hump vs double-hump), the trannys themselves are different (even T-5 to T-5, the 4-cylinder gearbox is considerably weaker), the brake and fuel lines are routed differently (4-cylinder lines are routed where one of the exhaust pipes goes for the V8, V8 has them almost in the driveline tunnel), and the rear ends are different (7.5" vs 8.8").

Also, there are some year-to-year differences that can bite you, but nothing too serious. Mostly just vacuum stuff.

I wouldn't do the swap without a whole parts car.
