Sorry but it's a truck thing.

for a work truck like that, I bet it was part of a fleet package that someone just forgot about. It looks trimmed like one of a bunch.
I read that parents bought it for thier disabled son who never got to drive it.
Neat to see the undercarriage so clean, stickers and all.
1/2 that price would be less shocking though!

To be honest, I'll bet someone bought it at $22k......it would have sold in an instant with a BIN of $22k if it had been the 7.3psd though.
It sold for $22k. What I meant was that back in '96 or '97 it was purchased new for a disabled son who never drove it.
I'd hate to see if it was a PSD crew cab with some options!
Just a neat find, wasn't really interested in what some guy paid for it.

It gives us hope that our 54k original mile '87 f150 might be considered a collectors item some day.
I have a '95 F150 Flareside 4x4 with factory tow option and 3:55 gears loaded...
Just went to a car show Friday and saw two bone stock Flaresides in the show. Do they know something I don't? My kids were impressed though! "Daddy you drive one of those!!!"

Ours is a fleetside, standard cab, lariat, 4x4, 5.8L 4bbl, c6 at, 4.11 gear w/lockers front and back, and it is the heavy 1/2 ton overload suspension.
Its a nice truck, but the 10mpg on a good day can choke on a bag of dicks.
For giggles I just did an online build of a 2014 F350 4X4, gas engine, AT, no frills; pretty much as close to comparable as possible. MSRP over $35K. If I was in the market for a new heavy duty workhorse $22,000 for that virgin '97 wouldn't look too bad...
In reply to JKleiner:
Hows the gas mileage compare though? While $13k is a lot of fuel, at 9mpg vs probably a lot more than 9mpg, that difference might come up faster than anticipated.
In reply to Kenny_McCormic:
That one listed has the 4sp auto and is fuel injected.....it'll get 14-16mpg. The new gasser super duties don't get fuel milage. That's why my dad splurged today and bought a '13 F350 with the 6.7L psd.
