The new charger has 5x115 wheels. Are these close enough to use on an old Ford? Let's ignore the offset issues. I may have to do something about the larger lugs on old cars but one thing at a time.

Yes they are close enough

FYI, hub and brake rotor manufacturers call the same part both 5x114.3 and 5x115.

Good to hear, 5 minutes on Google was filled with forum idiots screaming about death. I knew you lot would set me right. Thanks

How forums work:

1: guy bolts 5x5 wheels on 5x4.5 vehicle by using die grinder on wheel holes and washers under lug nuts

2: guy dies of stupidity

3: forum member says erroneously that his buddy died running 114.3 wheels on 115 vehicle

4: internet takes this as gospel and runs with it, stating 500 people die per year from interchanging 114.3 and 115

Had a set of Mustang GT wheels (5x114.3) on my Bonneville SSEi (5x115). The wheels outlasted the rest of the car, no issues at all. I still have them in my shed. The car however is no longer with us..

It is a shame that the cycle doesn't end right there.

You forgot Step 5: Bring-a-Trailer troll posts a comment in every Mustang auction about how, just by looking at the pics, he can clearly tell those are 5x115 wheels on those 5x114.3 hubs. Buyer beware! Think of the children...

I was wondering about the same thing, using Corvette (5x4.75 or 120.7) wheels on an E36 (5x120). Then I was wondering if the tolerances on most cheap wheels are even within 1 mm like that. I bet some of them aren't.

Im looking for wheels for my xjr (5x120.65) and I mostly look at 5x120 wheels. What kills it is, jaguar uses a 74mm hub

Look at the VW crowd. They love Corvette Saw blade wheels. I have to admit that they look awesome though...

Wobble lugs. I know thats what a lot of the Audi/VW guys use.

Lot's of GM musclecar guys do the exact opposite, I was just looking at a build where someone was putting BMW M-parallels on a 68 Camaro. We just don't get to camber out the wheels at all sorts of crazy angles like those cool VW guys.
