I know the swap is "played out" but I am getting a free 6.0 for helping a friend out and want some help decising on a swap. My choices are between an import of some kind (miata, rx7, etc.) or an old muscle car. Just not sure which direction to go.

An FD3 RX7 with an LS swap is my dream project car. Awesome chassis + powerful and reliable engine = awesomeness!!!!

I want one for my 1966 Cadillac. The question is - what kind of car do YOU want?

+1 for Roadmaster. A heavy engine for a heavy car. (I am assuming iron 6-liter. If you gettin' a freebie LS2, you have just earned the ire of practically everyone here)

Plus, Roadmaster + LQ4 + 4L80 = tow forever, in style.

Most aren't improved though....and all they're doing is what the "SBC" people did over the last few decades ruining older cars.

Personally, I've saved this car to my bookmarks, entertaining thoughts of buying it for the drivetrain and installing it into my IS300 and parting out the rest. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cto/4910733793.html I know it's not an LS3 or w/e, but even with a "lowly" LS1 I would get ~100 more HP than stock AND better MPG.

May not happen so soon, but something along those lines is planned for when I get my other 3 projects completed.

That's not a bad choice. After having stuck a 4.8 in one of these, now I have an urge to put one of these Gen III motors in a 2 door, mid '80s Cadillac Coupe de Ville for some reason. And back it with a 6 speed. Although a Monte SS with it would be pretty cool too.

Unless its an iron head 99 6.0 its only what 80lbs more than an ls1? Stick it in whatever is cool but slow, I like old wagons or maybe an el camino.
