Steve Hoeschler has done it again. DP National Champion. Still driving the engineers crazy.

Dern, didn't realize it was 6 times now.

He's shared a lot of very useful and eye-opening setup theory with the mr2oc.com board, so it's good to see him grab another.

Just sad that it isn't still in an X1/9.

Congrats to Mr. Hoeschler anyways though.

He gave up running the X1/9 when the SCCA refused to re-classify it when E30's were placed in DSP - along with occasional IS300 and Merkur entries. He did attempt to run it a couple years (or so) and realized it was just not competitive in the class; it's not like he didn't try, though. The car was prepped to the absolute legal limit.

The result is there are no competitive X1/9's running in DSP and the club has no incentive to bump the car down to FSP. That seems to be the result of too much and too little politicking from those on either side of the argument.

I understand his reasoning, its just sad for the X1/9.

Steve piloted my Challenge car a couple of years in a row. He is the go-to guy for rear engined cars. It was totally worth building the car just to see him drive it.
