What can you guys tell me about the 7th gen Honda Accord coupe with the K24? My friends got a line on one that is supposedly in good condition. Plans on using it as a dual purpose car: mostly for DD but the occasional track day as well. So...what's the verdict? Since it's an Accord I have no doubt that it would make a find DD but what kind of potential does that K24 have? How does it respond to FI? Enlighten me GRM.

There's more stuff for that Accord than for my '05 Corolla...

A friends wife had a base auto coupe for a while. Total snooze fest behind the wheel. I'm sure it would have been a lot more fun with a stick, better tires, and decent springs/shocks.

My 82 year old Church Pastor has the sedan version with the 5-speed.

He researched the most reliable car and ended up with a Honda and he easily drives 15,000-20,000 miles a year.

Of course, I doubt he autocrosses or races; but he is known to be a speed demon.

I still can't get over the stick shift.

The K24 is a lovely engine for a daily and can handle both turbo and SC, but the power steering is going to make you wonder if your hands are asleep. That may improve with lots of stiffer suspension bits.

The engine is pretty awesome but the rest is kinda boring.
