Some photos of the 818 I took from the GRM gathering at FF.
I like it just the way it is. No body required. I am however noticing a complete and utter lack of donut doing by the driver.

That's what I was thinking - I'd drive it just like that. Might be fun to create some minimal panels just for the nose and rear sorta-ktm-xbow-style. I wonder if they're planning on selling the kit without the body shell?
Cause, ya know, I have like mad fabrication skillz
Really looking forward to this feature as well. Here's to hoping the body looks better than the renderings.
WOW! Im loving the exposed skeleton idea...Id powdercoat the frame, and cut up some simple 2d skins to cover some electrics and keep rain/debris out of the engine bay...tres swanky!
and this shot is pretty damn cool:
This has probably been covered in one of the other 818 threads, but what do they do with the gearbox to make it in effect FWD? And can you get an LSD this way?
How tall is Tim? Doesn't look like he passes the broomstick test even without a helmet.
Not being able to track this car seems to defeat the purpose, at least for me anyway.
Cool! But wet pavement without fenders ain't no fun. Tim, you needed to push harder; Tommy looks like he's bored.
In reply to Adrian_Thompson:
The rear of the gearbox has an aluminum plate over it. IIRC that's all you need to do to disable the RWD transfer case, remove it and block the opening. Also IIRC Scoob WRX/STI's already have a limited slip, but if not they are easily sourced.
I wasn't bored, I was trying to figure out if I'd gotten enough pictures.
The track version has a taller roll hoop, AFAIK.
Wow. Not a heck of a lot of chassis structure going on there. Maybe it's still work in progress, but it makes me think that chassis stiffness, side impact protection, and roll protection will be on par with this...
Just looking for this picture has made me want an Austin Healey...sheesh, thanks a lot!
