The M6's were more than M5's, but $15-17k would buy you a nice one for quite some time. Now those are $30-40k+
One of my life regrets. I bought a 1985 Dinan tuned Euro (non impact bumpers) M6 gray market car 20 years ago for $9k. 5 speed. Only had 40k on the clock. Dropped a valve and I sold it for a song. Dyno'd over 400 hp. In retrospect the most beautiful and fun car I've ever owned.

M5 went to $14,700
Corvette went to $2,100
Unknown if these were high enough to beat any undisclosed reserve.
Since I was watching the Corvette, I received an email earlier today that it was relisted. It would appear it did not hit the reserve. The email also said it now had a buy-it-now price of $2,950.
Shortly after that email, another email saying it was sold.
After 'fees' $2,950 would be about $3,600. Seems high for a mediocre C3 with 126k miles.
Update:
So, last week there was a M5 and a C3 at this Cleveland IAA Auction.
Would you believe that this week there is another M5 and a C5?
2006 BMW M5. This one with more damage. With 2 days to go (Tues 9am Auction) the current pre-bid is $4,425
Also what looks like a lightly damaged 1998 Corvette with manual trans. Current pre-bid at $3,525.
This auction is usually much more mundane with loads of Chevy Cruises, Impalas and a lot of Kia Souls. Strangley, Kia Souls seem to not take a hit well and total out quickly.
This week seems to be Super-Car Week with the following also offered:
2006 BMW 750iLA A clean title, repo with a pre-bid of only $175.
I can dream and expect that I will have a sub $2k bid on this one!
Also a 2006 BMW X5 4.4L with no visible damage but listed as Salvage.
Back to Super Cars, how about a 2015 Porsche GT3 with a light rear hit?! Current pre-bid at $52,000 with 16 bidders.
Also a clean title 2005 Mercedes SL500 with 136k miles.
Still lingering is the 2017 Ferrari 488 GTB wich now could be all yours with the Buy-it-Now price of $66,000 (down from the previous $88,000)
