One last question for y'all. And then she can mull over all the great advice.
This is a one owner car; I have the signed title. I could make arrangements with the orig. owner to leave it in her name, if that is a selling point, for what is, in reality, not a rare car.
Would not matter on a DD; the rust free always does!
Is it worth driving it less, to leave it in original title?

The only real reason to not re-title it is to avoid the cost of the registration/title fees/taxes.
I see ads bragging about "one owner", but I never bought anything it matters to me on! Now a rare Alfa, with a pedigree, that might be different.
Thanks for all the advice, everyone.
I'll buy it from you for 2k

I said my son in law had the unruffleable feathers, not me!
Thank you for your offer, kind sir, but would it be too much to ask you to take your silly azz down the hall?

That is a paraphrase of a mimeograph of (before the inter webs) Syvelster the cat, being a jerk!
Stuff like that would appear all over the shipyard back then. Lotta cool stuff.
Now I imagine, the financial manager would not turn down 5.5, but we ain't sure getting out of the Highlander, after putting 4K into repair over a couple years, is the smart plan. If we get active about a sale, we'd probably start at asking about $6500 and see where it leads us.

Thanks for considering my offer

Glad ya knew that was humor... but, well. No.
Wife did log into her old e-bay account, and can still look in "sold for". Appears like the wagons do go for a bit more, as expected, but not the 2 to 3 times as much. Many more wagons for sale, and sold. Any sedans that sold for 2000 or less were fair deals for condition. All that sold for 6-8K, were as nice, but low option cars. One sold for 4500 in Detroit was quit rough. And not really low miles. But was 100% original, and did not appear rusty.
I really do think you could get $6k for that car without a ton of effort. $10k might be tough. Bring a trailer would get you $25 bazillion if they would accept it.

My FIL legitimately may be interested in this at $4k.

Thanks. Pre crazy, 4 is a reasonable offer, but after getting the chance to look at actual "sold" prices, and ignoring the 12K asking prices, my wife said the GRM price will be $5200. If we bother to list it in the real world, the neg. price we will be higher, and see what it does.
I've got a good friend just N. of Detroit - born and raised in the city! I think that will be my market. Just can't let him drive it at all. He drives like he's from, well, Detroit

Do you have to make the arrangements with the money launderers first? Not sure how that all works now. How do I git those contacts? The ones I used to have are all dead or in prison now!
