I tracked down the leak in my system, dye is in the condensation drain. I ordered a replacement evaporator from Rock Auto, but I think it's only for the 01-05.
The NB1/99 has a threaded fitting, the NB2 uses a clamp.

The Mazda Motorsports catalog lists this as NC10-61-J10 EVAPORATOR /NLA. There are none in Mazda warehouses.
Try contacting some Spec Miata shops, these will likely be removed from all of them. I know we pulled quite a few back in the day in salvage. IIRC you might be able to use an NA unit.
If all else fails , try contacting Chris Piku on the Michigan Miata Owners FB page. He parts out southern Miatas in the Detroit area.
I was at a friend's spec Miata shop this week he has an NB1 to part out as soon as he gets the okay from the owner. They're for sale (used) on eBay and Moss, but expensive.
