I agree. There is a lot to love about California. The places, people and especially the economy. Yes the cities are crowded, but there are plenty of places to be all by yourself too. Like farming? Take Hwy 99 through the Central Valley. Like forests? Plenty of those too, deserts and mountains.
There are redneck places and places with a small town atmosphere, where everybody knows your name and how often you go to church.
There are conservative and liberal bastions, places where the rich and powerful show off and yet plenty of room for the modest income family to just slide by.
