While puttering around PA the other day I stumbled across these two gems. They appear to have been parked running, once upon a time, long ago.
A Jeep nearly identical to this one is what I first drove as a car, many years ago.

Didn't see anything like a name plate or tag on it, but it certainly looks like one. The metal is all rotted, but the fiberglass looked good. Licence plate expired in 1976, looks like it's been sitting outside since then.
That jeep looks exactly like the one I learned to drive on back in the day. My cousin would take me back up on the family land outside of Bradford and we would go all around the trails that were cut through the land. Good times.
Based on this pic:
(for easy comparison)
It looks a LOT like a Manx. It doesn't look like it has the emblem, the the body looks almost identical.
I wonder where the gas filler is?
That does actually look like a real Manx.
The Jeep is a CJ3A. They are my favorite Jeeps, but there doesn't appear to be anything of value left on that one, unless it has a PTO.
In reply to foxtrapper:
I don't want to see another post from you until you've made a deal on the Buggy.
VW based dune buggies are really coming into their own lately, whether an original MANX or any other body style; upwards of six grand when done.
I just picked up a buggy body and an old Bradley II for the pan, gonna trade off the Bradley body (maybe someone could use it on a track car or whatever) for something else that I'll need for the buggy.
You really ought to scoop up the buggy and save it for later, or pass it on to another !
Dune buggies.... yes!!!

That's the most up-to-date dune buggy I've seen in the last 20 years. (way cool too). How streetable is it?

It drives very well even at 60/65 mph. (it is licensed)
About the only thing I need to address are the hard fiberglass seats which wear on you after an hour or so. I have a set of Miata seats to install after my wife stitches up new covers.
Question? Can you autocross those buggies? What about something like a sand rail? I have an idea brewing in my head

Back in the day, auto-crossed Manxes often embarrassed the hell out of cars that looked or seemed like they should've been quicker. Watched it happen many times in the late 60's or early 70's. Well, they called them gymkhannas back then....
