Left yesterday from central PA and forgot to post. Sat 16th and sun 17th I'm driving from Staunton VA to Lott, TX. I will be staying for a few hours in Texas before heading back to central Pennsylvania. The van is pretty full with bedding and such, but if anyone has something that needs to go in either of those directions, let me know. Nothing greasy or too dirty. Best to send me a PM

North Route or South Route?
The South keeps you out of bigger cities and maybe out of big city traffic.  The South may also lead to warmer temps if you are sleeping the nights in the van.
A downside of the South Route is that all the TX travel is smaller, no Interstate roads.

North Route:  19hrs, 1 min   1295 miles  Nashville, Memphis, Dallas

South Route:  19 hrs, 12 min   1277 miles  Birmingham, Jackson, Shreveport

Either way, here is a slaute to you and some traveling music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QAEmCuBnck&ab_channel=WhenTheCowboySings

I do that route all the time...towing even.  Avoids Dallas which can suck the life out of you at any time of day.

Most of those Texas "back roads" are actually designed as truck routes.  And the speed limits are high.
