Besides, if I was a betting man, I'd be looking at the guy who is so intimately familiar with the NHRA rules for running 9's!!

Is GRM ready for that?
I almost finished building my racer yesterday. I need to find 3 odd bolts, then disassemble for painting. I think there may be a rule change after they see my entry this year, but by then I'll have the 1st place trophy sitting at my house. Hint: It says "Powered by Ford" on the valve cover .... because it was free, and it's a Valve Cover Racer. :)
We will be bringing back the valve cover racing Trophy (along with 3 V.C.R.s) and trying to win it back again. ( Though it's kind of a creepy Clown trophy. I keep it covered with a black garbage bag and locked in a spare bedroom .. so it wont kill me in my sleep. It really is creepy. )
The Miata just needs a stripe on the hood and Nitrous in the trunk. Our first test autocross is on the 21st, so we're right on schedule.
Planners response: Of course we test. What, are we supposed to build the car in the hotel parking lot?

We aren't finished with the first and plan to start the second one Sunday.
I had a productive week. Things are getting crazy around here. If i pull this off, will have double the HP of last year and less weight
the team of one just got in from the garage. i succeeded in machining a part that nobody makes out of something i got for free and couldn't give away for 3 years, and that will help get me where i need to be. another $20 part that was holding a bunch of stuff up came in today. shall tackle that tomorrow night after the kids go to bed.
Major win last night. Not started yet but a big hurdle to that was accomplished. Also hate when china brand parts come with no fittings and no indicator as to the thread size. Figured it out, that $5 fitting better not put me over budget . Other china part came with so many extra fittings that i was able to cross $40 worth of stuff off the budget
I guess I am sorta a team of 1/2...
My list of things to do is getting short, very easy to do when working on a very minor build!
At this pace I just might make it to an autocross on the 4th to see if I made things better or worse.
On my commute this morning in the Challenge wagon, an A/C hose cracked and spewed refrigerant all over traffic next to me. Probably from it resting on or near the headers or rubbing the control arm. Oops.
What I'm saying is, I am including A/C work in my Challenge car budget We get Concourse points for having a "cool" car, right?
And another autocross this weekend, this time with a tuned engine running on 8 cylinders, instead of 6 sometimes 7!

"Finished" my car on Monday, just need to make final wheel and tire selections.

Someone once threatened/promised to lock me into a garage for a month with a Reliant (Plymouth, not the 3 wheel thing) and a Summit catalog and a vaid credit card number just to see what I'd come up with.
Now I want to build a Reliant Robin just to see how many times I can roll it.
Nothing like slicing the end of your finger while working under the challenge car, just before you have to go to work.
You'll need to log in to post.
