So I've had another idea recently about a spin-off of Bring a Trailer. Maybe spin-off is not the correct term since I am not associated with then in any way, but you get the point.
Bring a come-along.
The two general ideas I have are:
-A "premuim" classifieds site, similar to bring a trailer, but the cars have to NOT run, NOT have an engine, or be wrecked.
-A "premium" classifieds site for project cars. Possibly with an area to host your build thread. (not to take away from GRM either!)
The ideas are similar, but I think target different markets. The first may be more of a gimmick, the second with proper marketing might be useful.
Thoughts?
I like it. Rescue cars from project purgatory.

I'd love it if it was a mandatory no-reserve auction format. The problem is that people who build and abandon projects and project cars think their crap is made out of gold, while nobody else shares their vision. I do think there is a market for it, but the problem with the product is the psyche of the seller. "I'm going to get around to that some day."
In reply to Tyler H :
I get what youre saying, but it would be hard to get sellers like that.
What if you had a posted asking price, but people that view the ad can post what they think its really worth. So youre asking $6000, but 100 people put in their eatimates and that only averaged out to $2600. That would give the seller a reality and any potential sellers of something similar a better understanding of what their stuff is really worth.
Nah, you'd need a better estimating base or else it'd be overrun with trolls in no time.
Now, if you got a couple guys from GRM to review each ad before it's listed and put in THEIR estimates, I think you'd be on to something.
You could call the site "Ran when parked" ![laugh laugh](https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/static/ckeditor/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/teeth_smile.png)

Planning on Bring a Come-Along, but I like that name too! ranwhenparked.com is already taken though, and I own bringacomealong.com... ;)
So the save a project car seems to be the way to go. I think I like the idea.
Now my initial intentions were to mostly just allow the seller to pay a (small) fee, send me pictures and details to post online, and have it literally be a classifieds site. I don't think I'd want to incorporate an auction format, at least at first. But perhaps have it so that potential buyers have to make an account and verify legitimacy.
Maybe that can be the main benefit to a seller paying to post their car on my site, no spam!
I like it if you called it; “Good Luck” or “What are you thinking?”
I just want to see more air cooled Porsche’s that are more tetanus-inducing rusted scrap metal than an actual car sell for $98,000.
IknowwhatIvegot.com
Oh wait Craigslist probably already has that. ![laugh laugh](https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/static/ckeditor/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/teeth_smile.png)

That’s actually a good name for the site.
