Siebkens! May be tough to get a room at this point, but if you can it's where everybody goes! Have a Lienenkugel for me!
I have stayed at Siebkins a long time ago but unless you like that "Old World" charm I would pass. The place has charm but I like modern bathrooms, AC, and quiet rooms. None of that was avalable at Siebkins the last time I stayed there. The bar is a must see however. I plan on partying there next Sat. when I go to RA for a club race.

This place is right on Elkhart Lake. . It's pricy but if you can afford it then it's the place to stay. I stayed there a few times while racing at RA back in the 90's. Back when they were building the resort I could have bought a condo unit there. You then let them rent it out when you don't need it. Until this last ressesion a unit there was going for almost triple what i would have paid.
IF looking for cheaper digs then look in Sheboygan or if you can't find anything there look at Fon Du Lac, WI. It's a bit of a drive but I always found it fun to drive the back roads of WI.
If you can't find anything reasonable in Elkhart Lake, check the Sheboygan/Kohler area, about 20 miles ESE of the track and on the shore of Lake Michigan.
Also try Plymouth, it is only about 4 miles down the road. If you want to rough it you can sleep in the car. During the run-offs things seem to be very relaxed as far as the rules go. For the last 2 years I have just stayed in the van in the paddock and have had no problems.
Sheboygan is a little further - 20-30 miles, but will probably have more hotel options at a decent price.
North of Sheboygan is the City of Manitowoc. Probably at least 30 mile or so from the track but a nice town with several chain hotels and also some good resturants. It is also on Lake Michigan. On business I stay at the Best Western "On the Lake" which is walking distance to downtown places to eat and shops.
