Sadly there isnt much of a winning outcome here.
You take over this project (catalog, sell, etc) and there will always be someone who claims you were effing the poor widow the second anything sells for less than 20% over high sale on BaT or to a buddy or they see it around town. No winning there.
Let the widow twist in the wind and eventually just sell these items cash-for-junk? Not really fair either, both to the enthusiast market or the widow.
Best advice I can offer would be to give the widow a few options (local estate auction, local person to person sales, cash-for-junk, consignment sales or auctions) with pros and cons to each and maybe some contact info if you have personal recommendations and then keep out of it. If you want to buy anything, buy it through legitimate channels.

I've been in exactly that position; helping a widow, a few times. Because I know there is no up side to it I always tell her choices and probable outcomes. The problem is, likely her late husband told her finished values at expensive auctions.
In all probability she will have to hear the same thing from several sources. Before she even can begin to make an informed decision.
Let her make the decisions. If she's getting involved with the sharks, warn her and go away.

Did someone say Datsun 1200 parts? I'm also after an H190 LSD Diff or at least the parts to service the one in my car.

That is not the case here, he was very realistic.
Just curious where in NW Ohio? I have some family up there that are into the racing scene, might have some leads particularly on the race cars.
