I recall reading the competitive autcrossers were using spring rates up front better labeled "no-way-this-is-moving".

The folks I knew who ran Fox bodies on the track would put huge spring rates on them, crank in massive amounts of negative camber, and still demolish the outsides of the tires in short order. At least until they spent the money on replacing the front subframe and control arms with aftermarket parts that relocated all the suspension pickup points.
