Missed call
Will return call after work in AM
Thanks
Dont forget a timing belt and water pump on a cheap neon, especially for something like that where a blown engine could be pretty inconvenient.
Sorry
Been under the radar due to family medical emergency
Needless to say, cash for ALCAN is now almose non-existant.
Looks like $500 Neon will have to be the option.
Sorry Tom
I hate all of you that have done the 5000. My friend Roy and I had talked about it last year, but its just not feasible right now as he works the Antarctic summer in McMurdo. Maybe in a few years when he does a winter-over and skips the summer we'll be able to run it as the event is right around when he heads to the ice.
We had considered a Subaru Legacy Wagon of the 90s vintage. Dead nuts reliable, plenty of space inside.
Sadly, none of my other cohorts are insane enough to want to do this.

For 10k miles, you're going to want a fairly long wheelbase. I'd go with a Legacy. There's a zillion of them out there so you should be able to find a cheap one and another billion out there waiting to give up their parts.
Plus, you can get a wagon, which makes it easier to install a cage and haul all your crap.
