I see alibaba is selling body shells for some popular cars that are getting hard to find.

240z https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/High-quality-car-body-shell-Cab_1601042273462.html

AE86 https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/-17209-T-OYOTA-TRUENO-AE86_1601212194506.html?spm=a2700.7724857.0.0.34696f2e9KZi5W

No idea on the build quality or accuracy but it is interesting.  Who is going to be the first to try?

minimum order is 5 for $9500 plus shipping.

I can see drifters doing a group buy and VIN swapping them with their banged up old chassis.

I don't think there are enough NOS or reproduction parts to make a whole car.

There is a market for people who still race them, especially in Japan. Keichi Tsuchiya is having another chassis built for N2 competition, no doubt there are more like him.

As rusty as some of the s30 z car shells as I have seen people save I could see these working out if they really are close to factory.  Shipping & minimum order look to be killers though
