I recently picked up this insane set of Simmons B45s from a guy who built a car in the style of the IMSA 320i Turbo below. He built the car with the best stuff and the wheels are no exception. As he was finishing, someone gave him an offer he couldn't refuse for the car and didn't want the wheels and tires.
That was about ten years ago. Two of the tires were mounted for fitment purposes but the wheels and tires are brand new. I have yet to accurately measure the offset of the wheels but it's low, close to zero. 15x10 fronts, 15x13 rears. The tires are amazing. 285s up front and 345s in the back. I'm going to try to find out exactly how old they are but there is NO dry rot and the tires are as soft as my new A048s.
I found these wheels while looking for an E30, and I still want one but this would be pretty extreme and I'd have to do a 5-lug conversion. What do you guys think I should do? Total budget would be limited to $8K or so at this point.
ooohhhh....I want!
but I have nothing they would work on.

E30, Miata, P71.
Man, I'm thinking something like a V8 locost or vintage bitchin' camaro in black.....unless you want to replicate the 320 above.

What are the bolt pattern & offsets?
Wheels are cool, tires are junk.
If they hold air, I wouldn't say they are junk.
I hate to know how much comparable tires would cost.
Those look like they'd fill my flared zcar quite nicely...

...bring back the box flare thread again.
This thread is kinda along the lines of "I have this perfect 4 carat diamond and I'm not sure what to do with it". Those wheels are worth BIG money, so conventional wisdom might say that they belong on something nice--like some sort of box-flared BMW.
Amazing set of wheels. Flare the CRAP out of whatever they go on.

The fronts would fit on a P71 with no mods, the rears would need help though...
In reality you'd have to go with something that would look good wide and low. I'd say 2nd Gen Rx-7 or Porsche 944.
Flared P71's = :( although I have one.
Offset is unknown but bolt pattern is 5x120 which makes me think about the aforementioned Camaro beyond the BMW options. The guy I bought them from said he thought an old 6-series would be cool but I'd really like real back seats. I was thinking about doing something that fits the Australian origin of the wheels, but nothing comes to mind.
2nd gen camaro like Gimp is building and make some huge flares.
late model corvair with big flares!
honestly, I would not trust the rubber... but the rims are cool

5x120? Australian? HELLO!!!
GTO!!!
Grab an 04 for under $10K (sell the P71), flare it, and have the sweetest ride on the GRM boards!

Or if you like 4-doors grab a stupid-cheap Caddy Catera (which is a 4-door GTO), slap an LS1 in it, flare it, and go Ozzie Touring Car style.
That actually sounds really wicked cool...
The Catera has some other weird pattern, something SAAB-ish like 5x110mm.
The perfect car would be a flared Opel Commodore GSE or Manta-400. Google them for amazement.
e30 with the suspension from a 318ti or a Z3...

Nutty.
Must be an Aussie Sports Sedan, (there was a link to an Alfa running in this recently), I know as the other car in the photo is an Aussie Chrysler Charger E39
