I heard that the injection is going to be TBI. That way they can use their existing manifolds Maybe they will get some of the mileage back that the ethanol took away.

As I live in Daytona I frequently go to the NASCAR races. Tom and I went on Saturday night, and had a great time. Yeah, the "love bug" racing is horrible, but it is a great people watching time, and the sounds and sights make for a fun night.
The fireworks show was more entertaining than the racing. It was actually incredible---- the best display I've ever seen! At least NASCAR got that right!
I used to watch NASCAR all the time. My boys were Terry Labonte and Dale Sr. But, I slipped away from it hen the race cars looked less and less like the street versions. Not even the shape of the nose is close anymore. I say go back to using cars off the production lines modified for safety and speed like in the 70s and 80s, until the Lumina days. I'll get back into it then.
I'm not sure what anything but the OP had to do with Andy Lally, but...
What an awesome job he's been doing! His in-car from Road Atlanta testing is ridiculous! Amazing Talent!
He's doing a great job! It's tough to go from road racing to Nascar. Your initial instinct is to use the brakes to set the car, but that just uses up the car and you fade into the distance as the race goes on. Also, setting one up is very, very difficult, much harder than it's road racing counterpart too, as each corner of the car is adjusted independently. Being able to communicate with your crew chief is paramount, and knowing what the car likes and doesn't like is also.
There is no dragging around an uncompetitive car like you can road racing, either the car works or it doesn't. You can't mask it as a driver, no matter how good you are. Some of the best drivers are the best communicators.
I've been keeping up with Andy and wish him well. It's a tough move from somebody with nothing left to prove as a driver! Here's hoping he's running at the front soon!
