E39 M5. Gives the right impression. Lots of room inside, front and rear. And, based on a couple of rides I took in one at last Sunday's autocross, a helluva lot of fun to drive. I'll take mine in black with tint, please.

Due to maintenance (they are a little maintenance prone, not to mention rear tires,) Insurance (it goes way up with that many tickets) and my pre disposition to become obsessed with vehicles that have the ability to move swiftly.
I am leaning toward a 530 with the sport package.

CTS-V is a thought, but very little back seat room. (Another engineer at work had one and I couldn't sit behind him. He is my height.) My company tends to lean toward the Toyota and Nissan set, Honda's are viewed as sportier cars that require more attention (their words not mine.)

I really really like the Diamonte, especially the last year. I like the funky styling, and comfort, but (and this is a huge BUT) it is a diamond star motors. They are the laughing stock around Osaka, Japan. Everyone goes, not very good.
As far as Camery, I didn't know they turned. I thought the steering wheel in them was the volume knob for the tire squeeling sound effect. Kidding.
Jokes aside, this thing needs a comfy back seat with some prestige. Not out landish or trying to hard just a little.
BTW has anyone looked at the price of a Marauder???? Dear God those things are high!!! I can get 7 year old BMW 530s cheaper.

Two thoughts...Since when do Hondas require more attention than Nissans? Second thought...these guys need tour an Alfa plant.

You have to remember, this is JDM. Honda over there actually sports out most of their product line. Smaller engines with higher RPMs, low profile tires compared to the other manufacturers. Toyota and Nissan just don't allow them to rev them as hard. It is a different mind set. I thought they were nuts too, BTW. I asked them what else they had to do to them and I got no answer.
Japan is a different place. Despite all that you guys should see China. They are nuts for Buicks and VW/Audis over there. Crazy stuff. I know why they are crazy for VW group (first major outside manufacturer to put a facility there.) but the Buick thing is just mirroring american excess. Why they think it is a Buick I have no idea.
so I have a strong vote for A6 from a poster and my wife, I like the BMW 5 Series and my wife agrees that is seriously a "me" car, and another poster likes the E class as does my wife also.
Which means I will be getting a Audi or Mercedes and having to fight over the keys.

Is an E39 really that classy anymore? Most of the ones I see are cheap used car lot type cars being driven into the ground by people who want a "luxury" appliance.

Nah, we put the transmissions in John Deere's Garden Tractors, as well as Husqvarna, and more than a few other manufacturers. We are the #1 hydrostatic trans-axle manufacturer in the world. The parent built the Deere's for a long time. I work for the US division of Kanzaki Kokyukoki Manufacturing Company Limited. The gear division of Yanmar Company Limited.
We also build all the transmissions for Yanmar Marine engines, (in our Japanese factory). I am the Product Engineer for the Marine Transmissions, the only one in the states. I also am the Quality Engineer at the local factory, Tuff Torq.
FlightService, I just noticed you're in Morristown - I have family down there. My uncle Steve owns the animal hospital. (is there more than one? I doubt it given Morristown's size.) His son, my cousin, has been a car guy all his life along with me. He's in Knoxville now, but obviously makes it back to Morristown pretty frequently.
Yes there are two that I know of, one on the west side (alpha) and one on the east side.
I am about 300 yards from on the one on the west side.

Extremely roomy (9-5), and it gets 26-29 mpg average depending on driving style. The problem with it is that its reliability will either be really good, or really really horrible. Also, the wood in it is fake. It looks nice to me, but it is still fairly obvious that it is fake.
I would say a clean SC300/400, avalon, tsx, e46, s60, one of the 3.0 awd jags..

The last emperor of China was a major Buick fan. Buick's been THE status car of choice over there ever since.

To get around the fake wood get an Aero. I get 26 to 28 on my commute and get low 30's on the highway, as long as you keep your foot out of it.
Who suggested the Jag 3.0 AWD? That is an X-type and my maxima has tons more room than that thing.
