So I know it has been discussed to the limits about 4 / 5 / 6 point harnesses without a cage / proper seat.
What about using an OEM seatbelt in a vehicle that has a rollbar and a fixed back seat (not yet mounted, debating if I want a slider or not)
I have a 5 point harness, but was advised against installing it without proper anchors / proper cage.
The car was purchased with a rollbar but no seats (or 90% of the interior) and e36 chassis cars aren't exactly falling from the trees in junkyards to snag OEM seats from (was able to get a passenger seat from a compact tho) and since the car can not ever be street registered (VIN tagged as 'dismantled') I bought a fixed back seat for track use.
Plans for the car is to be multiple discipline. Drag, Drift, Track Days. I know it won't be pointy end competitive by trying all three but I am wanting to just have fun.
How dangerous will it be to use the OEM belts with a fixed back seat?
