Now that I have deleted the oil cooler and ordered a plug for the coolant hole that goes near drivers side engine mounting bracket, I have another question. That spider web of coolant lines that goes under the intake.. do I need to remove and block those as well? When I was surfing for the coolant plug and oil plug, I came across complete block off kits that included plugs for those lines as well, and some plastic barbell thing. Now I'm confused. They seem like a great way to release trapped bubbles in the cooling system so I'd like to keep them. There only seems to be one coolant line coming from them and it looks like it goes into the top rad hose. One more quick question, the heater hoses come off the T-stat cover. Is there a T-stat cover that doesn't have the take offs for heat? I don't need no stinking heat! Exhaust pipes alone are going to make this thing unbearable.

Some engines, LS6 included, used blockoffs on the rear ports on the heads behind the intake and use a crossover tube just in the front under the throttle body with the small tube coming off to the (upper hose, expansion tank)

When you go to fill the system fill the radiator and fill the engine through the upper hose. Took me 3 tries to get the air bubble from behind the thermostat on one of mine.

Personally, I'd keep the steam vent lines, they do serve the purpose you said to remove trapped air. The heater tube barbs can be pulled from the pump and tapped for pipe plugs.

Agreed, keep the steam vents. They're easy enough to plumb in to a radiator, even if you have to just drill and tap a small hole in the end tank.

I've got the heater tube barbs tapped and plugged on my engine. I used to just have rubber caps on them, but the lifespan was too short.
