so my boss's grandfather has an 81 silver spirit that's not running smoothly at full temp. cold start it's reasonably smooth (not quite where i think it ought to be though) and develops a bit of a miss like its running on 7 cylinders as it gets warm.
he suspects the plugs and wires are original so we're going to start with a whole new ignition system if it indeed is original, so barring that solving the issue, does anyone know of a particular Rolls specific thing to point towards?

Is an '81 fuel injected? Bosch? Lucas?
Early EFI cars ran in open-loop mode when cold. That means the sensors don't have any effect, and the car runs on a generic cycle.
If the car has EFI and runs fine cold but lousy warm, I'd start with an Oxygen Sensor.
forgot to mention, it has no cat converter and a new O2 sensor last week. i havent looked very closely at anything yet, but i think it has a CIS style injection system. i remember seeing a fuel distributor right on top.
here's a pic off google of another car's engine bay
