I finally ordered the slave, SS clutch line and shifter rebuild kit for my NA this morning.

Haven't decided exactly how much time I'm taking off between now and the new year. May end up using a few more days so Thursday would be my last day until the 4th.

What about you folks? How much time you taking off and what car/house projects are you trying to complete in that time.

Continuing the renovation work on the g/f's house: the goal for the holiday break is to get the gas pipe for the dryer installed, the second floor plumbing riser installed, the 2nd floor sub-panel feeder installed (all in the same damn, tiny chase...) and 1st and 2nd floor duct work for the A/C. If things really go well, I'll work on additional electrical rough-in and the kitchen island 1/2 wall.

6 point cage and steering quickener into a CRX. But I'm probably not taking any additional time off to do it.

I'm going to try to complete the work on my wife's NA. New rear end, 1.8 swap, Hydra wire-in, paint the hood, nose and bumper...you know, little stuff.

Rebuild the Su's and fix some wiring in the Z. Really hope I can get it running soon so that I can get into it a little more, and not sell it.

I am in Home Improvement mode (well, more like catching up on neglect due to racing season).

I laid 1148 sq-ft of hardwood over the last two weeks and now if all goes well - while others are egg-nogging and gorging on food I'll be painting the whole upstairs and installing a new shower unit in the master bathroom - then replacing the water damaged kitchen ceiling.

All of this is needs to be done so I can be uninterrupted from Feb 1 thru the end of March. I promised myself that this racing season would start before June with a car that actually runs.

Today is Concord radiator repair day. (what do you expect from a $400 car?)

Over the holiday the Eagle needs an axle, the van needs a tune-up, the M3 needs clutch work, then there is the TR-6 and the Scirocco...... and the boat and the house........

I always have too many projects!

aside from seeing the relatives for a good portion of that time....

in the e30 track car: remove the abs system and re-route the lines, upgrade the front brake pads, fix the gauge cluster so more than just the speedo works, add a secondary water temp gauge, change the spark plugs, adjust the valves, remove the brake dust covers, rig a tow light hookup to the rear light clusters...

on the dd: replace the front brake pads and rotors, trace the glitch in the speedometer wires, replace the heater blower motor.

for the camaro. repair and reinforce the flimsy a** urethane front bumper cover with fiberglass

in the house: fix the drain line in the master bath sink and instal a new vanity, fix the threshold to the master bath, replace the wood frame boards under my mattress, fix a paint spall in the master bedroom and guest bedroom wall. prep and prime the master bedroom for a new paint job

in the yard: remove the pile of leftover scrap metal to the recyclers to help fund the work above......

I have to finish putting the dashboard together in my Golf after a heater core swap.

Then I have to figure out this POS aftermarket alarm wiring hack job that is keeping my horn from working.

I also have to demount some bald tires and mount up some others I have.

The problem is that I don't feel like working out in the cold right now, so I should probably clean out my garage, too.

What will probably happen is all of this will sit until after the New Year, then I'll panic because there are only 6 weeks to the first event and I'll then run around like an idiot and only get half of it done.

Same here, I figure I need to buy a heater for the garage, or I won't do anything but play PS3 and drink good hooch for the next two weeks.

Fix the leaking water pump on my car (or maybe I'll just keep adding coolant), maybe tackle the snapped exhaust downpipe stud, and investigate the broken map light situation in the SWMBO's car. Probably help a friend do an oil change, too. Pretty boring, after totally re-doing a suspension and exhaust system.

Not taking any time off.

Would like to have the Escort a roller again by end of year. (Hubs and trailing arms showed up yesterday, yay!!!!)

I'm not holding my breath. Gotta drop the arms off to the powdercoater and i don't know when i'm going to have time to do that.

I've got Friday and Monday off this weekend, so I'll do a little more work on the NA and most likely the CJ. Especially the latter as that seems to be running pig rich. Someone - not me - tried to "fix" the vacuum leaks by richening the mixture. The scary part is that the guy supposedly is a pro mechanic.

Mind you, Friday has already filled up with other errands - get our porch cat fixed before he sires tons of porch kittens, and look at a house or two. Either way, working on cars isn't that much fun at the moment if you can't do it outside as the garage gets very cold at night. Fortunately outside in the sun it's still warm enough to wrench.

Most of my projects have been wrapped up, so all that remains to be done is a quick refresh of the Mustang pedal car that I just picked up (grill and tail lights) and to continue the search for a new project car.

I have friday off so I hope to get the spot caliper mounts welded onto the new trailing arms. If that goes well I might try to install them sunday. Real brakes and an alignable pair of wheels in the back should make a significant difference.

I have zero delusions about getting any car work done next week. If I'm really lucky I'll find time to rearrange my garage so I can get the GT6 on dollies and into theback so the TDi can go inside. For better or worse, I ended up changing the oil 1000 miles early last w/e since it was a over a quart low and I didn't feel like putting new oil in only to dump it out again in less than 2 weeks.

I would like to put the "winter bumper" on the g/f's MINI...

Well I decided to use some of my extra time off.

So Miata will be getting slave/shifter rebuild (wish I had the cash to go ahead and order new eccentric bolts, sways, bushings so I could start on it since I already have my FM VMaxx setup sitting here).

Then organize/clean garage and take a sledge to the existing crappy built in cabinets. Then when it warms up, throw a few fresh coats of white paint on the walls and epoxy the floors.
