NOt sure how in the hell it happened, but I got an invite to bring the 71 to Darlington for the 75th Anniversary of NASCAR. We will be on track Saturday and Sunday for some parade laps. There will be the original 71 wing car among us as well as cars representing NASCAR history back to the beginning. If you are there, say hi!!
That’s awesome. (They must have seen the car in GRM. )

heheh Absolutely!
Back from Darlington on Sunday night, tired and sunburned. It was worth every single minute of it! Highlights of my weekend were finding out that Brian France had specifically asked for my car to be there, getting to meet Leonard Wood, and getting some time to chat with Larry Pearson. (I hadn't seen Larry since the 80's) You can't beat being on the track with the Wood's Brothers cars! I didn't stop smiling all weekend.
Oh yeah, some dude named Dave Marcis stopped by and signed my car!
And ...Darlington is still the nastiest racing surface ever! It will eat you alive. This is ten laps with some 100mph sprints on the back stretch. So much rubber!
Headed to Rockingham next month and Daytona in August!
That’s awesome. All of it.
that is awesome! Glenn (RIP) and Leonard are good people. FIL's business is in their old shop. A lady at church was neighbors with Glenn and Bernice until they passed away. Still drive by their house and the old shop (now museum) all the time.
