My dad's 1990 HF. Original owner CA car, stock down to the air filter, but with a few dealer-installed options not offered on the HF (center console armrest,  foglights). Not for sale, just thought some might like to see it.

I was just thinking yesterday about how a CRX HF would be a good car to have as a daily driver.

Looks great. Do you know what the price difference was between the HF and Si?

He has to be able to get deep into the high 30s low 40s mpg, no?

I had a red 1990 hf with 74k miles on it. Should've never sold it.

Factory rated highway mileage was 49 mpg. My dad doesn't drive on the freeway anymore but yeah, high 30s/low 40s sound reasonable in town.

Want to say he paid $12k after having his special options installed (besides the ones mentioned: fanciest Honda tape deck, graphic equalizer, dash cover, factory alloys, clock, leather-wrapped wheel, maybe a few things I'm forgetting.

Very cool. I had an '88 CRX HF powered by a B16A. I left the stock cluster in it so you could take the tach needle like past all the numbers. Sadly, you don't see many CRXs these days.

My roommate in college had an identical red 1990 HF. Sundial quarter mile time but still fun going around corners!

I had a 86 CRX Si in the late 80's/early '90's.  (The Si had more hp than the HF).

A really fun little car. Handled like a go-cart though not as speedy fast as a 1.6 Miata.

Top speed was 115 though I did get it up to 120 on a very long downhill stretch of a rural interstate.   It felt very solid and planted at that speed, it generated actual down force.   I made a few long trips with it and it got 38mpg while mostly cruising at 80mph.

Then there was the time in Mississippi  when I was driving 100 mph and a Mercedes, plus two guys each hauling 1/2 a double wide, passed me up.

I purchased a new 1986 CRX Si. I save all the window stickers of the cars I have owned. No sadly I don't have it anymore.

I used to flatten the pedal around on/off ramps and never break the speed limit. Literal go-kart.

In reply to Feedyurhed :

Yeah, never look at the window stickers. :)

I won't be surprised when that car crosses the block at auction and brings crazy numbers.

I had that red on my '90 Civic hatch.  1990s Honda and Acura were really peak car back then.

That or bring a trailer it would not surprise me if it was deep in the 5 figures.

And to think how many were swapped back in the day. With the HF, you got the lightest chassis plus it was already set up for a four-injector engine.
