@datsun310guy I have those wheels on my 1200, a fellow racer gifted them to me as he add two sets of wheels already.

As for quirky; the aforementioned 1200 (no Z car or 510 for me), the Formula 500 are the current race car stable.

My insurance guy asked me once if I could just once buy a normal car. He also asked if I could buy one in state just once. I don't think I have done what he asked for yet.

Driving interesting cars makes life a little more messy and fun.

I'm trying to buy another manual 89 Accord. Pop up headlights on a sedan is a bit quirky.

In this day and age "normal" people think you drive a weird car if you drive a stick.

One if my favorite weird cars was my '67 VW Type III fastback. People had NO IDEA what it was.

Quirky cars? Yeah a few. My friends expect it out of me. If I ever mention a "normal" car they talk me out of it. Here's my full list: '72 Vega GT, '76 Vega GT (v6 conversion w/ 5 speed), '81 Citation X11, '85 Merkur XR4ti, '64 Corvair Spyder, '87 Chevy Sprint Turbo, '91 Swift GT, '95 Neon ACR, '91 Isuzu Impulse RS, '98 Subaru 2.5RS (rare green), '86 Alfa GTV6, '87 CRX si, '91 BMW 318is, '87 Alfa Milano (x2), '91 Lotus Elan, '01 Saab 9-3 Viggen.

I'm actually looking around shopping for the next oddball.

I thought my cars were normal... Maybe not, Maserati Biturbo, ford fiesta race car, Fiat X1/9 and the pack mule (BMW X3). Before the X3 I towed the race car with a bright yellow Volvo 850 t5r.

Odd lately the Masser seems to be the one to depend on.

13 Taurus SHO's seem to stamp a pretty good resume for this..... Add to that an e36 hatchback, NX Pulsar, the Abarth, and a supercharged Saturn that was more exclusive than collector edition corvettes and it would be a lock for any other group besides here....

It's come to my attention that my mom's youngest sister is a bit quirky. She's not a "car person", for her a car is what gets her and sometimes some stuff from here to there and there to here.

Her first car was a Pinto. Her second car was a Renault Encore, and the subject of this post. She bought it new. She owned it until 1995, at which point she was rearended and it was totaled.

She loved the HELL out of that car. She never had any problems. Last time I talked to her, she pointed out that if it hadn't been wrecked, she'd still be driving it. It never let her down and she thought it was awesome. I keep telling her that she was the only person on the continent who had a good Renault experience.

She replaced it with... a Metro. She loved the hell out of that car too. The salesman who she got it from used to sell Renaults. He told her that he recieved death threats over the E36 M3ty cars he had to sell. He didn't believe that she loved her Encore.

Nobody does.

She has a Fit now. She just paid it off. She likes it, but it's no Encore.

NA and NB's are practically autocross, track day, and fun cars now. In a few years, NC's may get there too.

My E36 5-speed was normal 10 years ago, but it's definitely not anymore.

The Saab 900s from the 80s to the 90s are my favorite Quirky Cars before GM ruin the brand.

I love quirky cars, but I guess I go more mainstream when I buy them. Except for the SAAB 9000. I guess the E39 I got was a little quirky in that it was a super base model, no sunroof, no climate control, and a 5 speed.

Oh, how quirky is a Factory Five Daytona Coupe replica?
