Hi folks,
I'm looking for a snow free lot at least 600x400' paved, in either NC, SC, TN or GA. Basically need it for some testing and break in of a car for a pro RX team. Need is the last week of February(mid-week). Close to airports, and reasonable site fee. Fully insured, safe and responsible.
and it should have been scene, not seen. ugg.
I'd hit up one of the tracks in the region about using their parking lot area.

Not much going on at Nashville Superspeedway lately. I did a Rallycross National Tour event there once. They have plenty of dirt and paved lots.

Working on that, thank you. Hoping to have a few autocrossers chime in with autocross friendly venues, as some will not even entertain the idea of it.

Having a look at that one right now. Thank you.

I think the Speedway is one of the major venues for the local club. Every track day I've done there, they were running cones.
They 'shut down' a couple of years ago, but still open up for club events form time to time.
It's a shame because it really is a great venue, but that's a lot of infrastructure to keep up for club events.
I saw this and immediately thought VIR. 1 hour or so away from GSO, and a little further from RDU. They have big skidpad and kart track.
I thought VIR, Carolina Motorsports PArk, the Rock, Darlington, Road Atlanta, Atlanta motorspeedsway, Roebling Road, North Georgia, Bristol, Charlotte, Charlotte drag, Darlington, 1/2 of the Cup team facilities.
I have that list covered. Looking now for stadium and theme park lots. Long Story, but its the direction I need to go.
CMP is 30 minutes from the Camden airport. Darlington dragway has a huge parking lot. In days long gone by you could have ran your car AT the Camden airport..
Contact the Triad Sports Car Club (Central NC). I think they use the Greensboro Colosseum's lot.
And if this is in regards to Sandblast, there might be dirt lots available, too.
Greensboro Coliseum has a lot of islands and stuff, their open space is a bit tight if I remember correctly.
How about Virginia Motorsports Park, or better yet Richmond International Raceway? RIR shouldn't have anything going on, and it's <15 minutes from Richmond International Airport...
In reply to Brett_Murphy:
Triad Sports Car Club also uses Danville Regional Airport. Might be worth exploring that...
Michelin's Laurens Proving Grounds? Not sure about the airport or the pricing, but they have a 400 X 1400 slab of brand new asphalt that sure is fun to drive on.
They might have other usable tracks as well.

I'll look into that, thank you.
The Michelin test track is great and I'm amazed they let people use it. In the past, the security was so tight we had to have an escort while we were doing QC work on the property.
The old Greenville Braves stadium in Greenville, SC used to have autocrosses, but I'm not sure they still do.
Edit for link
http://ccrscca.proboards.com/thread/5891?page=1
Donaldson Center (former AFB that has a fancy new name now) has an old abandoned runway that has been used for autocrosses. Michelin's research center is close by and used to use it too. But I hear the surface is ROUGH.
The Michelin site is great. But, as noted, they are pretty strict about it and your time window is pretty small to get a green light. Plus they are VERY strict about anything metal touching the asphalt, that includes popup shelter legs!
The BMW plant outside Greenville has a big lot in the rear that might fit the bill and it's used for autocrosses. The CCR guys should be able to point you in the right direction. For that matter, BMW's test track is right down the street.
I'd seriously look first at the Z Max lot, that's the Charlotte (actually Concord) drag strip. They are obviously very motorsports friendly. Again the CCR guys should be able to hook you up with the right person.
The Carowinds lot outside Charlotte gets used too in their off season but that thing's rough, again check with CCR.
A long shot is the Hutchinson Island racetrack paddock in Savannah, but it's a good deal 'skinnier' than you want, I think it's about 600 x 150. Buccaneer Region does that one.
Another contender about the same size as HI is the Darlington Raceway vendor lot. That's not far from Sandblast if that's where you are eventually going, I think Toyman's wife (she's with SCR-SCCA) can get you the right contact info.
They autocross quite a bit at South Georgia Motorsports Park in Cecil, GA. The Tire Rack Championship Tour is making a stop there.
Whitehouse field near Jacksonville, FL sees a lot of autocross action too. Buccaneer Region of the SCCA. http://www.where2race.com/venues/view/whitehouse-airfield
Thank you folks. I'll chase down those leads.
Sandblast is not in the picture FYI.
