I'm interested in the weight of this style of wheel and how it might compare with factory 17" Z-71 wheels?
(apologies for syntax/grammar)
I am somewhat baffled. Why compare a 4 lug 15" wheel to a six lug 17"?
Circle track wheels are kind of odd in that a lot of them have to meet weight rules to prevent fragile wheels. So to meet the letter of the rules and not quite the spirit, they get made with really lightweight shells and extra thick centersections to bring the weight back up while still minimizing inertia. To a degree, they are made to be bendable because wheels are easily changed after contact, but suspension damage is not.

No need to be baffled by anything here, I was just asking, as seen in my opening sentence, that I was interested in the weight of that "style" wheel ie: a simple, steel wheel vs. A much heavier-looking but "fancier" stock wheel.
Thanks for your input however.
Ah, I get it.
They do tend to be pretty heavy especially in the larger diameters. The "weight rule" wheels tend to be focused around circle track based sizing, like 15x8.
Those circle track wheels bend super easy. We tried them on our champcar. 1 race, without actually hitting anything and they were visibly bent.
The crager soft 8 wheels did not bend. But they were like 35# in 17 inch. I don't know the actual weight of a 17 z71 wheel, but I would guess around 28 to 33 #.
