Both kids are in their 30s, established and homeowners.  They are both tired of gen2 prius ownership and I am tired of fixing their cars.  So they started shopping.  And both like suby imprezzas, despite my advise to get the car with the best and longest warranty, as dad is no longer doing brake jobs, tune ups, etc.  Also both are incredibly cheap on car buys so they want to keep the number under 30K.  Once this is done I will be posting 2 gen2s.

They may be candidates for leasing if they don't drive more then 12k miles a year. Essentially 0 maintenance (some cars manufacturers/dealership include free oil changes), after 3 years you turn it in for new ones.

Hyundai Elantra hybrid starts at $26k, gets 50+mpg, and has a 5 yr/60k basic warranty with 10yr/100k powertrain warranty.

No leasing is not a good option.  They rack up miles and will keep the car as long as it runs.  The hyundai hybrid is interesting, I will tell them to look at it.

yes stupid thieves do kill lots of things. But it sure hasn't seemed to hurt them around here. We bought two, and I see more and more Kias and Hyundais every day. There's a reason their sales keep increasing. They're making cars people want.

EDIT: 2023 they became the #4 best selling car maker in the US behind GM, Toyota and Ford
