Less than a mile from my house, my wife thought I'd lost my mind when I started screaming with elation on our way to dinner. She still doesn't get it...

I would spend all my money at Harbor Freight then I remember the set of pillars I bought there that rusted sitting inside my dorm room, or the multiple wrenches or rachets I have broken from there or drill bits.

But then you would go back and buy an impact wrench with the leftover change you had from that $10 bill after you went to McDonalds...
Finally there will be one at least close to the perimeter. When I moved out to Stone Mountain I got excited when I realized there was a HF just over in Lawrenceville.
On a related side note - I just picked up one of these puppies. After 10 years of working on cars with a rinky-dink $40 jack from Autozone I finally don't have to work with my nose practically scraping the oil pan.
disclaimer - I have no illusions that HF stuff is professional quality, yadda yadda
yeah, I really don't care it's not pro-grade stuff, I just like the fact I can go tool window shopping for once...
They just put one in Fayetteville too! My dad lives down there, so its just another reason to go visit the family.
Hey, now you can buy more cheap chinese tools that only work once and put a few American workers out of jobs!!! (Yes, I know not everything there is made in China)

FTFY.

I don't know about that. It depends on the tool.
I need to stop buying Craftsman tools, i really don't like them. Feel awful in the hand, the finish chips off like crazy, and i strip their ratchets constantly. (3 so far this year, WITHOUT cheater bars)
The Harbor Freight stuff might not be much better, if at all, but at least it's cheaper.
This....is bad. Bad bad bad bad bad. I work a mile away. The only thing that has kept me from spending all change jar pennies at HF was the drive to Lilburn. Now....now there is no stopping it. This is like putting an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet next door to a Jenny Craig.

If you'd like to have this particular discussion I think the Off-Topic or Garage Journal Forum would be a more appropriate venue. I wanted to simply inform people on this board who might have an interest in said store that a new location was coming.
In reply to Raze:
Sorry, I didn't intend to start a conversation about it. I just feel stronglyl about not buying Chinese made products, since otherwise they will soon own our country - literally. We all need to wake up before it's too late. Oops, I guess I was starting a conversation after all.

What tools are you specifically referring to?

The ratchets, so far. I've split a craftsman socket or two, but i blame that mostly on me, and i don't actually have any HF sockets yet.

That's interesting. I was an engineer for the company that produces Craftsman's hand tools. We tested all kinds of professional tools and some consumer grade tools to compare to Craftsman. We did ultimate strength and cycle testing, metallurgical analysis, and many other tests. That was quite a while ago, but I would be really surprised if HF ratchets are better than Craftsman. I'm not doubting your experience, I'm just suggesting that maybe your experience is more the exception than the rule. In any case, are HF tools warrantied for life?
