I still think of this first when I think of a pacer. This is a mare we owned about 40 years ago. If she were a car, we'd have a good shot at the index of efluviency.

Now, that is just hot. Needs the 4 wheel drive of the Eagle. Maybe with rotary engine. I like that chopped original Pacer also.
I would never think that I would think that a Pacer was cool?? Not even after Wayne and Garth had one with Flames on it! But both of those custom Pacers are better than the original design and get the Fonzie Ehhh! Along with the thumb up. :0)

Just imagine how hard it was to match those door tops to the roof line. As was stated earlier, giant 265-50/15 front and 295-50/15 rear tires on 10" and 12" Weld Draglite wheels. Plus, cut out the headlamp eyebrows and put 928 headlights in along with nerf bar bumpers.
I sure wish some nice Photoshop artist would find a nice photo of an original Pacer and draw one up with box flares and giant wheels and tires. Feel free to fix the headlights and bumper.
Found this one. It can be done
"Converted to 4 wheel drive by adding General Motors front and rear axles. International Scout 4 speed trans and transfer case to the Pacer under carriage."
Motorcraft had an article on this one.
Never seen Pacers like these. Never wanted one, still don't. But it is amazing what can be done to one.

I have always wanted to build a lake cabin Mule type vehicle out of a 4 wheel drive something with a hydraulic dump box. Subaru, Jeep Wagoneer... That would do.
For me the car is a bit of Porsche 928 and Lamborghini Jalpa had a baby.
Cool as hell that someone did it though.

Or . . . it is a picnic table with seating for 6

I'm pretty sure those are Pacer front and rear corner lights.

Gremto?
I've never been a fan of that upwards swoosh on the Gremlin, but it looks pretty good on that car. I had a friend who had hot rodded the small block V8 in his Gremlin and it was pretty cool. If I owned one, I would somehow figure out how to get a rear side window from a made in Mexico VAM Gremlin or an AMC 2 door Hornet inserted in place of the US Gremlin's.
