The factory wastegates seem to be pretty robust units. Wouldn't mess around with a stock turbo or intercooler for sure, though.

Most people don't use the 5000/200 intercooler on the B2/B3 cars. It won't fit anywhere near its intended location (unless you put it in front of the grill and on top of the bumper )
....and the plastic end tanks tend to blow off above 15psi unless you strap them.
Honestly, if i got a 90, it's unlikely i'd bother with a swap of any kind unless there's a stronger trans or something i could swap in pretty easily.
I'd just throw some forged sticks and slugs at it and put together my own turbo kit. Sounds cheaper and easier than doing a swap, after which i'd re-do half of it anyways.
Plus i find i'm REALLY not "into" motor swaps these days.

Oh you didn't know that you could have MX6 turbo goodness in a spacious and baby-friendly form?
PS: This particular one had a built FE3 and a GT3071.

Father had a NA version. Really liked that car.

Hey so....

Any ideas on the driver's door lock thing?
Can that bumper be found for non-rapage prices?
How much time does a trans R&R take?
on the driver's door lock - doors are incredibly hard to work on in the closed position. just something to think about.
Yep, for sure. I'm wondering if he's full of E36 M3 saying he got a quote for $90. I'd pay $90 for someone else to handle it.
Probably a a bad power lock motor or door handle. I suspect it might be a common part shared with other Audi's or VW's. http://www.motorgeek.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=54752
Front bumper could more than likely be repaired, since I suspect it is fiberglass. A search on ebay.co.uk might yield some results. Note: Found one here for $250: http://eurowerks.org/showthread.php?t=21299
R&R of the transaxle doesn't seem too bad since the forward axles bolt to flanges and the rear driveshaft slides out after pulling the coupling bolts. Making it very similar to a standard RWD transmission. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duhhuzXjl-A
to increase the value of the car say 500-1000 dollars? absolutely yes.
Who's gonna pay much for ANY car you cant get into from the driver side? I could see if the passenger door was busted...
Hrmmm... now i'm not sure if the 3B in Atlanta comes with the trans or not. Wording is pretty terrible.
